A TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) is defined as a measure of thermal insulance of a unit area. The textile industry has created this unit of measurement as a guide to how a garment retains heat. The higher the TOG, the warmer the garment will keep your little one.

Upon initial testing, Baby Merlin's Magic Dream Sack and Dream Sack Walker have a TOG below 1.

We recommend dressing your baby in a light cotton onesie or pajama underneath the Dream Sack and keeping your home at the recommended temperature for babies which is on the cooler side.

The Magic Sleepsuit does not have a TOG rating because it is not enclosed like a sleep sack.  The design with the open hands and feet allows babies’ heat to dissipate as they sleep unlike a swaddle or sleep sack. We recommend dressing the baby in a diaper or a onesie under the Magic Sleepsuit - no more than one layer of light cotton.

Feeling the chest or back is the best indicator of how warm/cold your baby is running while they sleep.
